This is a more up to date cover. Last year, a few people requested that I sing a song by a band called “The fray”. I finally managed to get around to doing one a short while back, because of the backlog of requests that I have. I ended up going for a song of theirs called “How to save a life”. Those of you that watch Gray’s anatomy, will probably know this song.
This was one of the videos that a Hater decided to see whether they could upset me. What a mistake they made
This inspired me to put together another video about the experience on my other Youtube channel. A lighter look at it. Some people on Youtube block haters immediately, but I chose not to. Instead I got into conversation with them, and the outcome was surprising. They actually blocked me!!!
If you go to Youtube and check out the comments on this video, you’ll get a taste of the fun I had. They started commenting on another video, and it all wound up on this one.
Anyway. On to the song. This is my version of “How to save a life” by “The fray”.

Back to the Youtube figures again.
The subscriber count is still rising, and is now 509.
My channel viewings are extremely close to 11k now. They are 10,986.
144,696 total viewings of all my videos.
There’s another of my Originals coming up next

Now to the 55th video. This has to be one of the best REM songs ever, and is fantastic to sing. I can’t remember how many times I’ve sung this song, but it’s quite a lot. It goes by the name of “Everybody hurts”. A song you can really get your teeth into vocally.
This is my rendition of this classic song:

Now for the Youtube stuff.
It’s happened! I’ve gone past 500 subscribers. This was helped a bit by someone else on Youtube featuring me in one of their vids. So here are the numbers.
Current subscribers = 508.
Channel views = 10,981.
Viewings of all my videos are now 143,916.
The next video is a more modern song, and was also one of the videos that a hater reared their head.

This song was recorded before all the other originals I’ve put up on Youtube. It was recorded about 4 years ago. It was recorded in a studio in West Worthing.
Here’s the story behind it.
I am not really a fan of entering competitions, but my local pub ran a karaoke comp, and all my friends kept on urging me to go in for it. I refused at first, but they wore me down, and I entered. There was a qualifying round, and a final. To cut a long story short, I won the competition.
The first prize was a day in a recording studio, to record one song. The guy who ran the studio came up to me and asked me what song I wanted to do, so that he could get the backing. That got me thinking. I asked him if it was ok if I did one of my own compositions. He was very happy about that, and even seemed excited.
In the end, I ended up being in the studio for a few weeks. I paid for all the extra time myself. So it wasn’t just one song I came out with. I ended up recording 9 of my songs. Being ever self critical, I was not best pleased with my vocals in the mix. I never am though. They were a bit pitchy
All the music was performed by the “Mick”, the studio owner (his main instrument was the Bass Guitar). This is one of the songs from that collection. It’s a song called “You are”.
A few people mentioned to me about how strange they thought the song ended. The idea behind that was that the story is not over yet, so I wanted to leave the song hanging, so as to speak.
This is “You are”
A Jeffstunes Original - You are
Now for a statistical update.
The subscribers are so close to the 500 mark now. They are currently 499.
My channel views are at 10,913. Almost at 11k.
Finally the total video views are 140,131.
For my next trick. An R.E.M. anthem

Now for another original. The title of this one is “So blue”. I wrote this one a couple of years ago. The idea was to try and start with one style. Then change the style part way through the song. It all matched up quite nicely with the lyrics. The first part of the song deals with someone putting a happy face on. The second part deals with what is really going on in their mind.
Here is the song “So Blue”.

There has been some positive action with my Youtube stats. I woke up this morning to plenty of emails, and a jump in my subscribers. This was due to another channel on Youtube. Every week they pick 5 Youtubers to feature in a video, and today it was my turn
So, down to the nitty gritty and the stats.
My subs are now impressively up to 488
Channel views = 10,890
Overall video views = 138,755
The next post is about another Original song. This time from a little further back

Here’s another song that I have sung a number of times, and it’s quite popular among my friends. It’s probably one of the most well known David Gray songs. It’s called “This year’s love”.
This is my rendition of it:
Me singing This years love by David Gray
Now for the regular Youtube stats update, and then something extra
My subscribers are closing in on the magic 500 and are now at 475.
The channel viewings are at 10,866.
The total video views are at 137,810. Not too far away from 150k now
Now for that something special.
Whilst I’ve been on youtube, I’ve always shared my videos with my friends list. Very rarely I will share a video made by someone else if it really makes an impression on me. So I’m going to share this one with you, and give you a link to go and take a look.
It’s a 12 year old girl singing. Her mother runs the channel for her. Go and have a listen, and remember that this girl is only 13. Wow! what a voice, and what potential. Is this a future star in the making? I think so. She doesn’t have many subscribers at the moment, but I think she’s going to end up with thousands of them.
Here’s the link to her channel:
Amazing singer

I’ve bypassed 2 videos, because they are out of context in a way. As this is posted in March and the first one was a Christmas song, I don’t think it’s the right time of year. The other one was me thanking all the people that commented on my videos.
So moving straight on to the 51st video I uploaded to Youtube. I first heard George Michael singing this song. After a bit of digging, I discovered that it was originally recorded by Bonnie Raitt. I ended up buying both. I found Bonnie Raitt’s original to be relatively low in key for a female vocal. George Michael’s version was reasonably high for a male. So what if the male vocal was in a lower key. Might that make it sound more intimate. I had to find out.
Check out the results:
Me singing I can’t make you love me
The regular Youtube numbers update.
I’ve recruited four more subscribers. That now gives me 456.
10,774 Channel Viewings. That’s a very small increase. I’m happy with any increase at all
Finally, my total video views are 130,781. Not as big an increase as normal, but still very good.
Coming up next. It’s probably one of David Gray’s most well known songs.

Now a Billy Joel number.
I’ve sung many Billy Joel tunes, and this is one of his songs that I like an awful lot. It just feels good to sing. The song is “Honesty”.
I also talk a little about one of my rarest vinyl discs
Great words and great music. Check out my rendition.
Me singing Honesty by Billy Joel
The overall video views on Jeffstunes channel on Youtube were pretty consistent. So I took a closer look at hows those views were being divided. Some videos got more viewings that others, but the surprising thing was that all videos were being viewed regularly. So the rise in numbers is across the board.
Here’s the latest numbers.
There are 452 Channel Subscriptions.
The channel views have increased to 10,768. It’s going to be a while before this pops 11k. Unless there’s a sudden flurry of activity.
Total video views are now 130,056.
Another cover next. This is one of those songs, where I heard the cover version, before the original. Then went out and bought the original. Now I’ve done my own cover of it

The song I chose to do next was one of my all time favourite Coldplay songs. One of many great tunes on the album “A rush of blood to the head”, and it’s called “Warning sign”. I had to use my guitar with this one, because I don’t have any backing music for it. So it’s just basic chords again
I also put in some random information about europe and bananas. Those two go together really well.
Go take a look at my version of Warning sign (Apologies for the amatuer guitar)
Me singing Warning Sign by Coldplay
Coming up next is another song that I adore singing. By the one and only Billy Joel.
Here’s the latest on the Youtube progress.
Subs are up again to 451.
The channel viewings are up too at 10,762.
Overall video viewings are still racing forward and now stand at 129,349.
Things are going well.

Here’s another of my requests. It’s Eternity by Robbie Williams.
I said before about how my list of requests was growing too fast. So I decided to stop taking any more. This hasn’t stopped them coming in though. I’m still getting over 5 requests for every video I put up. I have to resign myself to the fact that I will never get through it. A business colleague of mine once said to me that more demand than you can cope with is a problem, but it’s a nice problem to have. So I’m happy with that
there have been almost 2,500 viewings for this video alone, up until now.
Anyway, here’s my rendition of Eternity.
Me singing Eternity by Robbie williams
I’m still playing catch up with my videos, but the end is in sight now. I should have caught up within a month
My statistics on Youtube are still climbinhg healthily. This is the current state of play.
448 Subscribers
Channel Views = 10,752
Video Views = 128,599
It wasonly a short while ago when I started adding this information to my posts, so eventually, it’s going to be interesting to check back over the posts and see the changing numbers. I’ll find it interesting anyway
Next up it’s a bit of Coldplay and a guitar

A number of months back, one of my friends asked me to do “America” by “Neil Diamond”. I finally got around to doing it
It didn’t matter to him that it took so long. He was overjoyed.
I’m not going to say too much else about this one.
Here it is:
Me singing America by Neil Diamond
Not so long ago, I made instrumental versions of my own songs available online. For those that were interested in covering me, or using my music in their videos. There have already been 4 uses, and more telling me that they will be using them. One Youtuber used my instrumental music in 3 of her videos, and a South African couple did an acoustic cover of one of my romantic songs. I’m pretty pleased with that
Back to the stats.
I lost one subscriber, but then I gained another. So the total still stands at 438.
There are 10,702 viewings of my channel.
The video views are now at 125,856.
Hmmm. What’s next.
Ah yes. A bit of Robbie Williams
